Urogenital rehabilitation and pelvic floor therapy - targeted help for pelvic complaints

Urogenital rehabilitation is a specialized form of physiotherapy aimed at specifically improving or restoring the functions of the pelvic floor muscles and urogenital organs. This form of therapy is used for a variety of complaints in the pelvic area.

Pelvic floor therapy is used in the following cases, for example

  • Incontinence (e.g. involuntary loss of urine or stool)
  • Bladder emptying disorders
  • Pelvic floor weakness, often after pregnancy, childbirth or surgery
  • Chronic or acute pain in the pelvic area

Therapeutic approach

Treatment includes an assessment and physical examination, followed by an individually tailored treatment plan. The aim is to improve bladder and bowel control, relieve pain and sustainably improve quality of life.

The following methods can be used:

  • Pelvic floor training: specific exercises to strengthen, coordinate or relax the muscles.
  • Manual therapy: For mobilization, pain relief and regulation of tension.
  • Behavioral therapy advice: recommendations on drinking habits, toilet routines and posture.
  • Biofeedback and electrotherapy: To improve muscle awareness, improve the activation of weakened muscles and reduce pain and/or the urge to urinate.
